Cunningham
Requirements
- Twin tailed control
- Easy to rig.
- 4:1 purchase
This is simple; the 4:1 is achieved using a double cascade
down the front of the mast. Each tail from the cascade is lead back to the thwart.
At the top the control line is passed through the block on the sail
(this is the first cascade). The control is terminated by tying a small not in
it and feeding it into the mast track just below the gooseneck. 4mm rope is
best for this. The rope is able to slide up the track only as far as the gooseneck
and the knot in the track holds it in place. When de-rigging the
Cunningham just slides back out.
