Winsford Flash Sailing Club Albacore

After a season of strong winds there was only a
light and fitful breeze for the Albacore open held at Winsford Flash Sailing
club on Sunday.
The first race got under way just after eleven
o'clock with Matt Potter and Mark Fowler from Notts County leading the pack at
the first mark, then consistently pulling away through out the rest of the race.
There was a good battle for second place between Dave and Nick Hammond from
Ogston Sailing Club and local sailors Paul Lennie and Pam Gott. Dave and Nick
Hammond finishing in second place.
The second race got underway with Matt Potter and
Mark Fowler from Notts County again pulling away once again to finish well ahead
of the fleet. Local sailors Paul Lennie and Pam Gott achieved a second place,
with Dave and Nick Hammond from Ogston being pushed back into third
place.
With the final result depending on only two of the
three races, the overall first place was already decided, Allowing Matt Potter
and Mark Fowler from Notts County to take a well-earned rest.
The third race started with Dave and Nick Hammond
leading on the first mark closely followed by local sailors Paul Lennie and Pam
Gott. Dave Hammond held the first place through out the race, thus achieved
second place overall. Local sailors Paul Lennie and Pam Gott took third overall
place.
