Tewkesbury
Sailing Club Regatta 2006
Sponsored By Two
Rivers Marine and Outdoor Tewkesbury
Overall there was a
good turn out for the TCSC annual regatta, in total 9 Albacores
Turned up of all ages.
Saturday started with a 2 hour Handicap race that saw light winds
blowing across the river. Close racing between all of the Albacores
produced the following results:
1st Peter and Sally Lawrence 7993 Bad News
2nd Steve Ashford and M Yeomans 7995 phoebe
3rd Oliver Hopkins and Jodie Southall 7425 Gunship Diplomat
4th Rob Pipien and Paul Watson 1853 Justin
5th K. Willat and a Willat 346 Lyra Silvertongue
6th Dave Whittle and Eleanor Thompson 7508
7th Russ Hopkins and Alice Savage 6441 Duster
8th J swan and P swan
Sunday saw conditions that suited the Albacores a little more, although
the outlook in the morning was a little grim with no sign of any
wind at all. As the gun rang for the start of the first race the
wind started to fill in with a gentle force 2. With the shifting
conditions the racing was hotly contested with positions changing
and 720s proving to be common place.
Pete and Sally Lawrence won the first race in 7993 with Olly Hopkins
and Jodie Southall a close second in 7425 and Steve Ashford and
crew taking third place in 7995
Race two was a very similar story with the results being the same
The final race of the day saw more predictable winds, helping Olly
Hopkins and Jodie Southall take 1st place Followed by Steve Ashford
in second and Chris Fornara and Hazel Williams in 7757.
Overall the Results Stand as below:
1st O Hopkins & J Southall 7425 Gunship Diplomat
