I am currently restoring Alb 1525 {mold no 1802} and I wonder if anyone knows her original name or history as she is unusual. She is a mk 3 with the horizontal outside veneer and was completed by Fairey and has their plate with RYA 1525.

She has swordfish style decks with all timbers and scantlings in spruce or pine except for knees and transom. All exposed fittings and exposed screws were chrome plated.

What makes her unusual is that the boom and mast are Fairey. The mast is rotating with single diamond and the jib haliard returns down the forestay to an underdeck tensioner just like the mk 1.

There are two original sets of sails.

Was this one of the first made after the fire?

I can only give you the build and registration dates from the list. I know nothing else! She was measured on 6th August 1963, and not registered until 25th January '67.
The time between the two dates implies a boat off the Fairey mould that was measured and then finished off by someone else, quite possibly an individual rather than a company. This was relatively common at the time.
