This will be a two day Albacore Season opener. Overnight camping will be available by prior arrangement. Water levels at MSC are currently increasing so the Spring water level forecast is good. With blue dye added to the water the weed forecast will be low and we anticipate Mediterranean blue waters!
Day One will include a Class in boat set-up, rig setting & sail trimming by Mark Reddington. The day will start with classroom tuition as appropriate and then move to an on shore boat demonstration of rig adjustment and sail trimming. The afternoon will start with some on the water coaching and practice and will then move on to some short practice starts and races. The day will conclude with a class room de-brief including some video footage if available and discussion.
Day Two will be the first Open of the Albacore season. The plan is for a five race series starting in the morning with two short races of approximately 35 minutes. After a short lunch break a further three races are planned. After a break for boat pack up cake, tea and coffee will be served followed by the presentation of awards.
There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd & 3rd places, 1st visiting boat, 1st Silver Fleet & Top Junior.
We plan to have the NAA demo boat, Championship winning 8262 available for charter, MSC's race albacore 8129 and several club boats for loan. These will be available for both the Training Day and the Open.
Entry fee and booking for the training day TBA. Refreshments and lunch TBA
