Planning to be there as long as we can sort the kids out (school overlaps with the beginning of the regatta).

The Ptarmigan will be there and now that Derek has taken on the mantel of Race Chairman I can concentrate more directly on my Ceilidh dancing and whisky tasting skills

Monarch will be there assuming a) I can still hang on to the mainsheet, and b) no-one is insisting on messing up her paintwork by sticking things on it.

I am pretty sure boats will be safe before, during and after the regatta, for those wishing to arrive early / leave late. There's plenty to see. I will check with the club what is in place.

Derek and I are intending to come up. We hope to come up the week before in the Motorhome, leave the boat at Largs and do a bit of travelling, then stay over at the Club for the event. Do you think it will be OK/safe to leave the boat at the Sailing Club?

Cheers

Hi Andrew/Ingrid (et al)

I found my accomodation (and yes i'm booked, surprise surprise) by using the accomodation tab on the ssi site (available via Internationals 2009 on this site home page) in conjunction with google maps put in "Largs Yacht Haven, Irvine Rd, Largs, North Ayrshire KA30, United Kingdom" the the accomodation post code and Bobs yer Uncle,..... distance to "walk" each day. Katie and I are "less than one mile". Fairlie is also an option as it is only just past the Marina.

Happy Hunting

Derek

ps you might also want to try other www like "visit scotland" etcDerek Gibbon2008-10-02 10:48:40

Ingrid and I are coming back from Canada. CAN 7511 is safely stored in Greenock for the winter. Need to get on with making accommodation arrangements.

Hi Derek

Been away for a few weeks & as always there's alot going on when I get back! For the record, John & I will be doing the Nationals. His present boat is going up for sale on the forum v shortly but he & Mark Calvert will then be sharing a new boat to be ready in time for Largs. Not doing Ogston, & keeping an eye on Ali Pali to see if needed.

Norman,

As my wife often tells me, you don't have to do anything you don't want to do. Hull stickers will not be required.
