For the record, I have never worn the chicken suit...I believe Mary Neumann did at Largs.

WRT to the container, it should be delivered to the Outer Harbour. Henry Pedro has been in contact with Mark with the container particulars.

Christine,
I stand corrected, it was Mary, perhaps a beaver suit may be more appropriate anyway

Dear All,

I would like to say well done to Mark for sorting out the shipping for the UK contingent to get out to Canada. In what is probably a relatively thankless and stressful task.

I can speak from experience and say that it is not easy in the past all I have had to worry about is the boat and associated kit (container, cradle, rib etc) getting from A to C via B and managing owner/sponsor expectations.

I would say that the task of getting 8 or so Albacores sorted out, logistics planned, paid for and then packed is tough. Especially as you are dealing with alot more people with different ideas and expectations. Peters and May offer a service second to none in the shipping market, especially when dealing with boats and their owners whatever the size.

I fear I maybe waffling now, I just wanted to say well done to Mark and any others involved, and I wish I was coming with all you guys as I think it will be a blast. The hardest bit will be getting the gear into the container all you have to do then is turn up, un pack, rig up and go sailing :) Preferably quicker than any of our friends on that side of the pond!

Look forward to seeing you all on the water soon.

Hugh. :)

All:

Mark has posted nine names thus far as committed.

Remember that if you switch to a 45 foot high cube container it will hold twelve boats, which is sure to lower the shipping price per boat by a significant margin.

It's not too late!
