Nigel Potter would be sailing his new purchase, AgainstAllOdds but has a Scorpion meeting at Notts County...

Perhaps next season...

Hi Paul and Judy

I have just got a pass from HID so Paul (Wiggy) and I will be there with 6959. I think we will be camping or crashing out in the jam jar. I hope the bar is well stocked with Ginger Beer for us southerners.

Looking forward to meeting up with everyone again.

Do anybody know if Nottingham are sending any boats?

Hi
Good question . . . mine is the only Nottingham Alb that ever goes anywhere and I don't know yet whether I can get up next weekend.
So I'll see you if I do, and if I don't I hope you all have a good weekend.
Cheers

Weather looks good, I assume Easterlies provide a good beat and downhill to the bar along the length of the dam. Looks like the sun will be out, so what better to encourage a few more of us Southerners up and show support for the usual distance travellers. Just thought I'd bring the post back to the top to remind those thinking about it. Let's add to the 21 boats so far!

Cheers

Great photos and I can't see the boat I am buying anywhere!
Where do we find the results to what seemed like a good event?

8069 is what I am buying, its fast in other hands and what it does with us is another matter altogether. If I could have found what I wanted in wood then I'd have gone for that.

With regards to the Broadwater open, I am sorry to hear about the problem you have.

And here is an opprtunity
If people want to get to the South Coast for a sail, I am sure that we could do an event at Weston Sailing Club on Southampton Water the following week. It wouldn't necessarily be a full open but what we could do is have a separate Albacore start within our ordinary club sailing in the open waters of Southampton Water. We could offer two or three races on either a Saturday or Sunday.

We normally lay our own marks which makes it easier for visitors to navigate the course. I think the daily sailing rate is pretty minimal and it would be a good way of getting a few Albs together for the end of the season.
If there is sufficient interest I will pursue this and post a response in a few days.
