Is there going to be a Northern Championship in 2008. There are many clubs in the North that sails alb's.

Covenham

Scaling Dam

Winsford Flash

Rudyard Lake

Grimsby & Cleethorpes

To name but a few!

It's always a good weekend at the end of the sailing season to have one last bash!

Is there any interest from people to have the event and /or is there anyone at any northern clubs who may be interested in organising it?

Happy new year Phil. numbers well down on the dock so far this year but they may improve yet. Ogston would make more sence but Hornsea has more pubs and chip shops.

Good to hear from you Sam

Wouldn't it make sense to make the Ogston open on the 11/12th October the "Northern Area Championship?", Unless Hornsea want to have an open meeting as well.

Sounds like we have a couple of clubs that may be candidates for Open Meetings in 2008. Can you please discuss with your committees and see if there is an opportunity to run an event if you don't already. Just let me know and i will put it on the fixtures list - the more the merrier! Trevor

Hi CrawfyReid,

I used to sail at Grimsby & Cleethorpes and occasionally Covenham a few years back. I returned to Albacore sailing last year and know sail at Winsford.

I will be doing the Nationals / Inlands and Abersoch week again, I just thought it might be nice to do something at the end of the season as everything seems to happen in July and the south coast is a long way from Chester!

Hi Phil,

Where do you normally sail? are there other Alb's there? Ullswater is always a good event but it's July rather than your suggestion of later in the year.

The Northerns will be at Ogston this year in October. Please make an effort to attend and support the club so we get an Albacore Open in their annual calendar.
