What do sailors in Toronto do in the winter? Sail indoors of course!

At the Toronto boat show last week, a hockey rink was filled with 3.5' of water and the local Albacore community clubs brought 4 Albacores down and put on sailing demonstrations and took members of the public out for rides. Each daily session was kicked off with a race! Imagine 4 dinghies racing around a hockey rink with only half centre board down and 3 knots of wind (provided by some large fans).

Perhaps its a pity the Excel boatshow never got the bugs out of their indoor pool the two years they tried it
