Well done and thanks to everyone who came to help at the show- an especial thank you to John "Who ate all the pies" Woffinden who loaned his boat for the stand and took it up there on the Friday before, as well as serving on the stand on Sunday. Gold stars ought to go to Derek Gibbon and Crawford Reid who came down from Scotland to represent the class.

A lot of useful contacts were made with old and new Albacore sailors, and with the Scottish Sailing Institute from Largs - who will be hosting the 2009 Internationals.

I thought we had more genuine interest than the last time I went to the Show 2 years ago - we certainly had a steady stream of visitors both days.

PS by a careful choice of vintage and non-vintage champaign we managed to keep the cost of the reception down to last year's level

A big vote of thanks to you Jerry for organising the whole thing. It is quite a lot of work on top of all the other things you do for the class; so on behalf of the membership - thanks and well done! Trevor

The spelling mistake betrays which side of the tracks I come from (the Cava side)- still I aspire to the Champagne lifestyle like wot they have at posh yot clubs
