Decks are flexilbe, so it is not the way forward to to epoxy them. If tou wet & dry them and coat them them with a couple of coats of blakes woodseal and then a few coats of Blakes Favourite Varnish. them that should do the trick!

I have just finished recoating the decks on my Porter composite. I faced the same question. The original builder had epoxied and then used a 2 pot polyurethane varnish. After many years this has had to be finally stripped and what a job. After all the preparation I settled for using International Perfection 2 pot varnish. It is hard work and a little fiddly but worth the effort and the finish is pretty as well as nice and hard. I guess it does depend on whether your decks flex but the advice I was given was that pre coating with epoxy could potentially also cause a bonding problem. Being a traditional varnish man these materials are a little technical for me but I am learning. If you use 2 pot make sure you do not allow it to overcoat any 1 pot paints as they are not compatible. Best of luck whatever you do,

To my mind the best available is Perfection two pack, it's hard as nails and very great finish, 5-6 coats should do it with 400 wet and dry in between. a good brush will make all the difference.

I used Epiphanes 2 pack on mine (same process as Crawfy) with International Schooner 1 pack to finish. Warm the can of the 1 pack so that it flows out and gives that 'glass' look when it's done.
