Hi All,

I have had a mast foot plate designed to go under your existing mast foot and i was wondering if any one would be interested in one to share the costs of production as the price reduces considerablly if i order 5.

It is will be made of 3mm stainless steel and will be polished.

The plate is 95mm wide by just longer than a proctor or superspars standard mast foot step. The plate has flared sides and back so that you can attach your blocks and tackle to it for shroads, mast ram pre bend etc...

The plate is welded at the seams. It has 8mm holes periodically around the flared sides to shackle to.

It has 6 holes so that you bolt it to your capping plus the 4 holes for your standard mast foot to sit on top.

If anyone is interest pm me and i will send them one of the drawing.

Phil

when the varnish is tacky, sprinkle some sugar or salt lightly on it. when the granules dissolve it will leave a non slip surface without adding any additional weight

International Non-slip Additive can be got from sailboats or other online chandlers used it on my varnished woof and found it good

Thanks Phil,

I would be interested.

I have a Young which was finished by Linton, A6673. I sail in Scotland mainly Bardowie Loch, near Glasgow, and occasional travellers. I am in the middle of refurbishing since the original glue is beginning to give up the ghost.

Thank goodness for epoxy.

Can anyone tell me the best way to create non-slip varnish on the sole?

Do You have a picture of said mast foot? I take it that it spreads the load and moves the fixing points out a bit.

Hi Steve,

I hope your coping with the heat. It hasn't stop raining here for the last six weeks.

It's amazing the difference a mast foot can make!

Cheers

Hi Phil,

Greetings from the humid heat of Bahrain. Congrats on winning the Europeans, all it took was buying the Woof and adding a couple of new fittings: a mast foot plate and a nut on the tiller.

Cheers Steve Brown ex GCYC & Covenham.
