Hi

As part of my investigation to assist the owner of 5886 get the details of his/her boat right I used the web site below to narrow the options. Norman also assisted by looking at this and other sites and Hey Presto, when the "old suit of sails came to light" we were bang on.

However looking at the site I noticed that a lot of boats registered against more than one person, wrong / missing information etc. Could I therefore ask that you update or even put in for the first time the information relating to your boat. The more information available the better.

Have just added 5859 to the registry....no problems apart from having to register with the US forum first! No old info apparent, but do boat name changes have to be recorded against hull numbers anywhere??

Hi Graham

If you are looking for up to date info you could do worse than speak to Jean Simmons or Norman Halstead, both have access to boat ownership info.

Jean is membership secretary and Norman looks after info on past championships including giving us (the class) information to work out certain prizes each year.

Feel free to contact myself or indeed any committee member to assist.

Hi

Early 2009 and I am in the process of buying an Albacore...Registry would be very useful for tracing history etc. Any news?

Hi

I have had feedback from the Webmaster of Albacore Boat Registry. There is no way of deleting an entry, this is because the whole site is being revamped and it is hoped that in the re-write this will be included.

So can I suggest that if you have an entry on the Registry which is no longer valid that you go in and edit the boat name to "Sold". The rest of the info can be edited if you like but this is all that is needed to give a clearer picture. If you can encourage the new owners to register and join the association then great. If you leave some info in the notes that would also be good, maybe even pop the "old" name in here for info. The Webmaster has said it may be eraly 2009 before the new site is ready.

Best regards, and see you at Largs 2009 for the Internationals.

As yet I have no feedback on deleting old records. I doubt that we would be allowed to add in bulk or even per club unless you say that the owner is the club. I will see if the webmaster is able to give me the info. It is not David Byron so I will chase it.

I had the same problem as John, can we try and get everyone at our local clubs to try and fill in details or fill in some of the details in our own names so not everyone has to register as it requires confimation for the sec.

It would be nice to fill in the gaps and then maybe track down un sailed boats.

I havnt found a way of deleting my old boat from my account on the registry. This may explain the duplicate entries or old data.
Sounds like a job for Sherlock!

As a spin off from realising the amount of out of date info we have since starting the "are you coming to the Internationals 2009" I now know that you can edit not only the content of a posting but the Title too. In the main this would be most helpfull if people selling boats can edit the title once sold to reflect this. Also please encourage buyers to join the association!

Hi Graham

When you re-register change of ownership with the RYA you can change the name of the boat. The cost is cheaper if you are an RYA member! Look on the WWW.

Cheers
