Hi everyone

The introduction on the home page of the web site states the Albacore is a versatile boat, well I can truly confirm that.

I'm still relatively new to sailing and the class. We have owned "This way up" for nearly 2 seasons now and been sailing 3 seasons in total

"This way up" was sailed this season by my two eldest children, Matt and Emma, in the Derbyshire youth sailing series, in a mixture of winds ( and we all know how fickle that can be) with Matthew at the helm.

Whilst they openely admit sometimes ithey can be a little overpowered, old sails, raked mast and full down hall normally brings her into their comfort zone.

Glossop was a force 5

Overall series result 11th

And then we can put the heavyweight crew in of me and another crew member and still sail.

Thanks to everyone we have met at the events that we have attended this year, we have enjoyed the season.

regards

Hi to everyone at the Metcalfe-Smith household.

We certainly need more youngsters pushing the Albacore and it looks like Matt & Emma have done us proud. Well done. You join the ranks of the "Rooks" who have also pushed the boat out! We could do with more!

Well done to your young sailors - you will have to teach them to be "handicap bandits" - Albs are great for lightweight young sailors in a nice steady Force 1-2 when other boats sailed by their contempories eg Laser Radials, 420s, Toppers are real dogs. Select the boat you are going to take to the handicap event according to the forecast!
