I have resently bought an Albacore that has been stpipped to the bare hull all standing and running rigging are there does any body have plans or drawings to help me re-rig any help would be gratefully received

Hi John, Welcome.
There is no real standard way of rigging an Albacore, the class rules allow a great deal of flexibility. It really depends on what you want to use the boat for, a set up suitable for cruising would not necessarily be the same as a fully adjustable rig that boats used for racing often have. If you are anywhere near Maidenhead and can make it over this weekend (4/5 April) then there will be a large variety of boats to view - bring a camera and a note book. (see www.maidenheadsc.org.uk for details) If you cant make it to Maidenhead, then let us know what kind of set up you need (eg basic, straightforward or the full monty) along with the age and type of albacore (Wood, GRP, with/without stern deck etc) and we will be able to help. In the mean time I will try and get some photos of boats at the Open and post them up somewhere to give you some ideas.

I am in Scotland so I can't make maidenhead initially the rig would be for cruising I am a former Keelboat sailor and gave up a couple of years ago but miss the water and this albacore fits the current need (I think) any pictures or drawings would be a help

Hi John, at Royal west of scotland amatuer boating club...at the west end of greenock esplanade...gogle RWSABC...I won`t be down this weekend but we have our first shake down race of the new season , next wednesday ie 15th...they`ll be quite a few Albis out , and folk will be there from 6`ish...an old master,Dick Downie should bethere and is generally very willing to give of his vast experience
