Anyone else thinking of going to this jolly? Last time we went Nev Herbert was 6th I remember, there was little wind & it poured with rain rigging & packing-up & the changing room was like the black hole of Calcutta. Last year I think there was freezing fog - still hope springs eternal etc etc

Co-incidentally it is my birthday so I will expect any fellow Albacore sailors to come & help us out with a shandy or two

Hi Jerry

Yeah we have been considering doing this event again. We did it two years ago and I agree with your sentiments concerning the changing facilities. It was my first ever 'Open' event so quite a baptism - no we didn't capsize! We will be checking the weather in the days before so all looking good we hope to see you there cold or not.

I think I'll chicken out this year- weather predictions for Heathrow for Saturday noon are minus one & add in windchill - I dont fancy being Scott of the Antarctic just yet

Blue Jay is currently buried in a snow drift so no possibility to go. I was looking forward to it and in spite of windchill was up for it. The other consideration was getting everything plastered with road salt and clean up problems after in the freezing conditions. Shame as the conditions today here were beautiful - we are only about 25 miles from venue. There is always next year!
