Can anyone help me with pics of adjustable shroud systems currently in use, I am re fitting a wooden boat and want to use shroud levers above deck and a purchase below decks, any help gratefully recieved. Graham

Here is a picture of how many of the Speed Sails boats are rigged:







The shrouds come down to a 6:1 block system (blue rope). One tail of this purchase is lead aft for coarse adjustment (letting off the leward shroud), if you are using levers you may not need the coarse adjustment, in which case just terminate that side of the purchase. The other end goes forward under the deck to another 6:1 purchase on the vertical deck strut.







The second 6:1 puchase (red rope above) is lead back to the thwart for rake fine adjustment giving a velocity ratio of 36:1.



I have now re-rigged my boat to use more cascades to reduce friction, but the priciple is the same.
