Hello All,

What is the compass of choice in the class at the moment?

Having sold the last boat with our tacktick I am loking for one to fit into 7510. I assume the electronic variety are still frowned upon so what do people plump for in the Alb?

Any thoughts gratefully received..

Hugh :)

Hugh

Electronic compasses are not frowned upon (other than by a few people who incorrectly believe they sail the boat for you) as long as they dont correlate heading and time.

The T060 model Tackticks are used widely.

Hi Hugh,

I use the tacktick which seems to work ok for me, it has the added advantage of also serving as a timer which is useful as you don't have to fumble around with a watch and the timer is in your line of sight.

Hugh... Suunto from Finland cable tied to the mast gate, Casio on wrist, I have been caught out a couple of times hitting the timer on the TackTick.

Andrew, Wow 8152 that sounds like a fast ship!!

Hi Mark,

I recon 8152 will be a fast ship, its white which seems to be a good start. First thoughts on a name are "Zip and Lob" which has yet to receive management approval! Can't think why.

Will test the speed next Friday, should be good for at least 70mph  .

Cheers

Andy
