We plan to arrive on Friday afternoon. Will there be access to the club to leave our boat? We also plan to stay for a few days after the event so is there any facility to securely store boat say in a locked compound or similar?

Thanks

I'm not part of the Club and can't speak on their behalf, but I was there last year for the Supernova Nationals so can relate what happened then which might help.

The boats are put on the (very wide) promenade a couple of hundred metres north of the Club (look for the slipway and you'll find it). The car can be there too as long as it's part of loading/unloading - outside that you'll need to park on the street close by. Parking space at the Club itself is limited.

The Club does have a locked compound, but again space there is a bit limited. I've already booked myself in for Monday night - well I've asked them if I can anyway...

So you won't actually need access to the Club on Friday afternoon. However, I know that there will be several people around and I'm planning on arriving on Friday afternoon too. See you there!

I am also planning to be there Friday afternoon and leaving Tuesday morning. Boat will have to survive the prom!

Barney, could do with some tuning tips Friday afternoon so count me in for a sail.
Ellie may even get Dave some cheesy fries to slow him down!

It's beginning to look like hitting the water on Friday might involve a good deal of paddling...

i have also seen the wind predictions - but when we arrived today we saw wind - not overpowering breeze but there was a solid 10++ out there. it looked nice - and totally sailable.

meanwhile the wind report for the day had the pressure not breaking 10 all day.

maybe i am just trying to convice myself that we'll see some good racing conditions this week end in spite of what the computer models say.

this place if FULL of wind generators. it has to be windy, right?

This site is usually on the ball with the forecasts:

Not the usual Nationals conditions.
