These Porter Boats are to be found generally in great condition, the weak spot as with any plastic or wood boat for that matter would be the joint of the buoyancy tanks & the hull. This may well show signs of opening, squirting epoxy into the movement gaps is the usual cure.

There will be signs of wear to the mast gate & step areas, hey it's 20 years old, but should be perfect for club racing, there are Porter boats of this era that have been successfully upgraded.

Thanks Mark,

Comments appreciated, keen to join the class just looking for that 'right' boat.

Hi

Our Porter is a 1988 and has no structural issues at all. One good thing about these boats is that the knees go from under the gunwales right down to the tanks which is a strong point in their construction.

If you haven't seen it yet and would appreciate a second pair of eyes, feel free to contact me on 07973 507378

All the best

Dave

Keith,

Just wondering if you were still looking for a 20ish year old Porter. If so, have you seen this one on Apollo Duck?
