Having recently attended the Inland Championship, I feel that a timely reminder of the National Albacore Association Class Rules in regards to advertising is needed.
These clearly state
"C.4 ADVERTISING
C.4.1 LIMITATIONS
Advertising on the boat chosen by the person in charge is prohibited"
Please note "person in charge" has a specific meaning in the racing rules (see RRS rule 46), and is a term used in the ISAF Advertising code (Regulation 20).
I will be part of the scrutineering team at the Internationals and this rule will be enforced along with all others.
In regards to other Open Events, if you turn up with advertising on your boat, you will be protested.
Without being a kill joy, the Rules are designed to protect all the members of the class and try and keep it affordable for all participants.
Many thanks
