Sailed my Albacore for the first time yesterday - which was absolutley fantastic..

I have been reading a lot about and experienced job halyard tension problems (as far as I can tell, problems). with halyard tension.

Mine is cord rather than the cable I was used to on a Wayfarer, the Wayfarer also used a highfield lever for additional tension.

I realise these are very different boats but - any guidance here, what should I expect / can I / should I fit a highfield lever?

Also, what are your views on roller reefing for the foresail on an Albacore? this would make things so much easier sailing with a 4 yr old!

Hi I would say you need to have a wire halyard made up and either a highfield lever or an adjustable system fitted depending on your type of sailing, don't know where you are based but a good chandler such as Welsh Harp in Wembley or P&B in Northampton could do this for you, other chandleries are available. Any queries give me a ring 07775 664104,cheers Graham
