Has anyone got an electronic copy of the class rules for 2014?
I am looking specifically for details of the measurements for masts. (i.e. distance from the datum point of gooseneck, bands and spreaders and anything else that may be relevant)
I can't find the details of measurements for masts on the class rules document available on this site (which is 2013) or on the RYA site (which is also 2013) .

Many thanks

Hi Tim

The 2013 rules are on the RYA website and here (Menu/Association/Class Rules).
I believe these are the latest published rules for the NAA.
The Americans have a set of 2014 rules but you should use the NAA rules.

Note that the rules re-write did not intentionally change any rules so any recent rule changes should only be clarifications. Specific measurements for masts will not have changed at all.

Ah Yes. thanks you.
for some reason I thought that section was just about the mast position in the boat.

Not very logical is it?

Also am I missing where it mentions spreader position?

Spreader position is not measured. (other than only being allowed one set F3.2.d)

Really? OK
I guess there must be an optimum position.

Cheers

My records show my Cumulus mast was specified as follows if it helps:

Lower Black Band at Maximum allowed above sheerline (610mm)
Hound Height 4510mm above Sheerline (3900 above lower black band)
Spreader Height 2540mm above sheerline (1930 above lower black band)
Forestay maximum height allowed.

However The hound height has since been lowered by 150mm (6 inches) to 3750mm above black band.
The spreader height above is 75mm (3 inches) higher than standard which would therefore be 1855mm above black band
