Please note that the 2017 Southerns will now be held at Parkstone Yacht Club. This will be run alongside the Flying 15 event on the 3rd & 4th June returning it to a two day event. The change has been reluctantly made due to Lyme Regis SC only being able to offer us one day's racing. I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause particularly to anyone who may already have booked accommodation in Lyme. I hope that the return to two days and another familiar venue will inspire a good turn out. This will be good training for the Internationals!

Thats a shame, another expensive 2 day event, is it going to be possible to qualify on the Sunday only ?

Graham

Sorry for my late response due to many other demands on my time right now. A one day Southerns might have attracted only a handful of entries at best and the other classes listed had already dropped out. I spoke to several 'regulars' and the response was very much negative in supporting a one day event.

The option came up to piggy back off a Parkstone two day event on the same weekend so it seemed a no-brainer. Most of the inland sailors are looking for some sea time and this will hopefully help. It is hard to please all so sorry to disappoint.but you can always come and sail whichever day you would like. On a similar note I have also listed two other sea regattas to gain sea experience prior to the big one in August.

Cheers
