I have just been given an old wooden Albacore and just starting to restore her. The hull itself self seams sound. However the topsides are in need of replacement along with the strengthening stringer that runs along under the edge of the starboard topside that has snapped in the area where the stay comes through the deck. In terms of deck replacement it seems Robbins Elite or Super Elite 4mm marine ply are probably best options. Does anyone have any advice on this. I would like to get the deep mahogany finish back if I can. Secondly does anyone know what type of wood the the stringer would be made of. Thanks. Chris
