Hi folks.

Has anyone successfully transported a Albacore mast on a set of roof bars?

My new car has the facility for roof bars but they would only be about 32 inches apart.

Is this too narrow?

I'm concered that a 6.9m M7 could suffer flex damage.

Any thoughts gratefully received.

Simon.

I'd have thought the overhang would be the problem, especially getting out of junctions

Yes and with overhang over boat behind since our vehicle is a large high van.

If you want to reduce the amount of flex, I would securely place part of a triple or double extension ladder on the roof rack first and then tie up the mast on the ladder.
