I am having problems with my Tack Tick compass holding charge. The instruction say that you may need to leave it in the sun for a couple of days to get fully charged up.
I have tried all that and more and on a cloudy day or sailing late in the eavenings it has a habit of turning itself off. When you restart it there is a low batery charge warning.
Does any one know if these things can be fixed, do the manufactureres offer a service program.

Any advice gratefully recieved

Charging details here:

How old is it? They have a two year warranty (upgradable to three years). When mine went wonky they replaced it free of charge.

If it is no longer in warranty, they have a repair service.

Once charged you need to make sure it is kept in the dark (ie in its case) so that it stays switched off.

John
Thanks for the information
Alas I think its well past its warranty I have had it for a couple of years after a friend passed it on to me when he gave up dinghy sailing. So I will try the raymarine repair servcie.
I suspect I am not alone with this problem so I shall report back to this forum my experiences.
I am reluctant to fork out for a new replacement Tick Tack unit prefering to spend my money on one of those new double glazed jibs that will keep me warm in the winter.

Regards

Richard
