2 Albs and a total of 60 double handed boats attended the Steve Nicholson Handicap event. Light breezes for the 2 races enabled the Albs to keep pace with the Merlins upwind and not loose too much on the downwind legs. The start line was very crowded and getting clear air off the line was key to keeping the faster boats in sight. We had a great first race, with clear air and managed a fourth with Phil getting inside the top half. Race two saw a black flag and a heavily biased line. We got swallowed up in the pack as the Fireballs and 505's blanketed the fleet but Phil had a peachy start and rounded the top mark in a great position. Downwind was tricky with the wind fading and shifting considerably, but the Albs kept the momentum and with some lucky inside pack mark rounding we managed to finish in the top third with Phil just behind. Overall we came 5th with Phil 31st.
